Construction Superintendent

MULE Engineering & Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator in the Orlando, Florida or Central Florida area. 


SUPERINTENDENT GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the construction site and all activities on that site.
Oversees and directs the material, tools, equipment, and labor used to complete the construction activities.
Responsible for job site logistics, scheduling, quality control, safety, field office operations and overall morale.
Must have general knowledge of all trades on the project and must be able to forecast and execute the required activities within the
project schedule.
Oversees both MULE employees and subcontractors’ operations.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with co-workers, owners, owners’ representatives and tenants.
Reports to the Project Manager for administrative responsibilities.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a strong leader with a minimum of two years experience working with federal projects.
Must have an acceptable combination of education at the post-secondary level, college degree(s) in engineering, construction
management or business; vocational training; and/or field construction experience.
Must be capable of learning new technical and non-technical information and applying it in the field.
We’re looking for someone who can grow with the company and located in or around the Central Florida area.

Construction Estimator

MULE Engineering & Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator in the Orlando, Florida or Central Florida area. 

General Description
History of providing estimates that are completed on time and within budget
History of providing firm fixed price estimates with a good win percentage
Well experienced in providing takeoffs
Strong ability to dissect projects from pre-bid meetings, documents, and drawings/plans to provide a detailed competitive estimate
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards
Excellent planning skills and the ability to set expectations and drive accountability
Maintain accurate records, purchase logs, expense reimbursement forms, and other documentation
Works closely with and provides support to project managers, proposal writer, and other MULE team members
Working on a variety of projects of varying complexity
Attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required estimate content
Consistently follow up with subcontractors to ensure bids and technical information are received on time


General Qualifications
Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
10+ years in the construction industry (preferred)
5+ years participating in the bidding of government and commercial construction projects
Experienced in Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build bidding
Good written and verbal communication skills
Able to provide detailed technical writing for bidding packages
Strong analytic, problem solving, organization and time management skills
Professional in actions and appearance
Thorough and detail-oriented
Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints
Effective and professional interactions with project partners, subcontractors and vendors
Self-starter and motivated with minimal supervision
Strong computer skills
Strong team working skills
Military Veteran Preferred

Construction Accounting Manager


Construction Accounting Manager Position
MULE Engineering & Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Manager in the Orlando, Florida or Central Florida area.  The Construction Accounting Manager is a key position within the company, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities to the senior level management of MULE.  The Manager will support several areas of financial reporting and analysis. In this visible role the individual will work on all aspects of job costing, construction costs, forecasting, billing, cash flow analysis, reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, and general accounting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels are necessary. The Manager will also work on special projects as assigned.

Duties: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, including but not limited to
Responsible for all accounting related functions on multiple projects and compliance with company policy and procedures.
Process weekly work in progress transaction schedules, confer with estimators and prepare job cost and transaction reports. Analyze and assist management in cost control measures.
Responsible for administering and reconciling company credit card purchasing program.
Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and reports.  Remind them of reports due ie: daily reports, timesheets, safety reports etc.
Manage monthly closing process which include reviewing investigating, and correcting errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports as well as active participation in the monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs).
Responsible for budgeting and forecasting. Prepare budget to actual reporting monthly.
Prepare month-end financial and management reporting.
Compose, track and submit CPRs, OCIP and CCIPs when mandated by the project.
Keep a spreadsheet for each project’s subcontractors, noting and tracking contracts, contact information, W-9 submission, COI submission and contacting subcontractors when something expires or needs updating.
Track Accounts Payable. Attach approval stamps to invoices and submit them to PMs for payment approval.  Then forward to CFO for payment.
Be available for travel when necessary.
Keep an inventory of tools and equipment at each jobsite and in storage.
At the start of a project, make sure insurance requirements are met, subcontractors meet the wage rate requirements, and work with the PM to make sure all requirements of the contract are being met.
Get the Release of Liens from each subcontractor as they complete their portion of a project
Provide support as needed and requested by the PMs, Superintendents and the CFO.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE, SKILL and ABILITIES

Must be a strong and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required. Specific requirements include:

Must have strong technical skills involving inventory reconciliation, cost analysis and monthly financial close.
Must have knowledge and understanding of project cost structure, job cost and construction processes, and be able to apply this information to cost code invoices and effectively track project costs.
Excellent organizational skill and ability to communicate clearly with various departments in the organization.
Should have advanced proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel.  Should have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and/or finance required.
3-5 Years’ experience in Construction/Cost Accounting.
